A holiday can feel like a weekend in terms of providing a break from work or school, but it does not technically count as a weekend. Weekends are specifically the two days at the end of the workweek, typically Saturday and Sunday, when many people have time off from work or school. Holidays, on the other hand, are specific dates throughout the year that are recognized as special occasions or commemorations, and they do not always fall on a weekend. While a holiday can provide a similar feeling of relaxation and leisure as a weekend, it is not the same thing. **

The holiday policy for the weekend is that employees are entitled to take the day off on public holidays that fall on a weekend. If a public holiday falls on a Saturday, the following Monday is usually observed as a day off. If the public holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday may be given as a compensatory day off. Employees should refer to the company's official holiday calendar for specific details and any additional policies regarding weekend holidays. **

If the question is asked during the weekend, "this weekend" would refer to the current weekend. Similarly, "the weekend after" would refer to the weekend following the current one. Clarifying the specific date or using a calendar can help avoid confusion. **
